Mariella Lehner works with traditional printing techniques and combines these techniques with unusual materials, for example plaster. So she tests limits of traditional techniques and overcomes them at the same time. “I think it’s exciting to see drawings in very different materials, and maybe even get dirty or rumzupatzen to become freer,” she says. “When you combine drawing with different materials, maybe in a three-dimensional space, or on a canvas – if you try something like that, it can help you get on with pen and paper.”
Lehner tries a lot of variations and develops in very different artistic genres. So she draws comics, quite obscene and uses those subjects used in her work as a street artist. Since summer 2018 she belongs to the Rip-Off Crew. She was born in 1992 in Lower Austria and lives in Vienna.
